Because the mountainous region is totally on the japanese Portion of the peninsula, the key rivers have a tendency to flow westwards. Two exceptions are definitely the southward-flowing Nakdong River and Seomjin River.
The southern and western elements of the peninsula have properly-formulated plains, though the jap and northern parts are mountainous. The highest mountain in Korea is Mount Paektu (2,744 m), through which runs the border with China. The southern extension of Mount Paektu is actually a highland named Gaema Heights. This highland was generally lifted in the Cenozoic orogeny and partly included by volcanic 파라곤솔루션 matter. To the south of Gaema Gowon, successive high mountains are located along the eastern coast of the peninsula.
